Engineering
When you come to us with a vision, we can draft that vision into an actionable plan because of our in house engineering department. We established our engineering department so we could avoid the inefficiency of involving a subcontractor in the planning process when possible. Though we often work with outside engineering firms at the request of our clients, we pride ourselves on being a turnkey contractor capable of taking our customers’ vision from concept to completion, and that simply is not possible without an engineering department. Every job that requires an engineer’s input, which is almost every job we do, moves significantly faster because we use our own engineers.

Department Contact: Zach Martin, PE
Vice President of Operations – Engineering & Construction
Zach Martin, P.E., has been a driving force at Groves Electrical Services since 2012. As Vice President of Operations, he oversees multiple key areas — including Substation Construction, Electrical & Industrial Controls, Electrical Testing & Maintenance (ETM), and Civil Construction. With a sharp focus on leveraging the unique strengths of each team member, Zach has helped position Groves as the go-to partner for complex, projects that many competitors shy away from.
A Madisonville, KY native and professional engineer, Zach began his career in the underground coal industry while studying engineering, later joining Groves where he spent his first year gaining hands-on experience in the field. That foundation continues to shape his leadership approach — one rooted in respect for every role and a deep appreciation for the diversity of expertise across departments. Outside of work, Zach enjoys spending quality time with his family.
